Program Requirements

To be admitted to the MS in Accounting program online, you'll need:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting*.
a 2.75 cumulative undergraduate GPA or, for those with US degrees, a 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale) in the last 60 hours of undergraduate study.
Resume.
Statement of purpose.
Official transcripts.
Three letters of reference.
Official GMAT scores - total score of 450 or higher.
- GMAT waiver, with Graduate Coordinator approval, available for applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or greater.
English language proficiency (international applicants). Note: Scores must be sent from testing entity.
- Duolingo English Test score of at least 110
- IELTS combined score of at least 6.5
- TOEFL total score of at least 79
- TOEFL Essentials score of 8.5
- PTE total score of at least 53

*Applicants with a non-accounting degree will be accepted into the program upon completion of the following prerequisite accounting courses or their equivalents in U.S. tax policy:

To earn your master's in accounting, you'll need to complete 30 hours of coursework. Full-time students are able to complete these requirements in one year. There is no thesis requirement.

Required courses include:

ACCT 505 - Managerial Cost Accounting
ACCT 516 - Ethical and Social Responsibility for Accountants
ACCT 518 - Data Analytics for Accountants
ACCT 527 - Corporate Taxation
ACCT 531 - Theory of Accounting
ACCT 546 - Financial Statement Auditing

You'll also choose from six hours of accounting electives and six hours of accounting, business, or informatics courses.

Because courses in this program will only be available online, the program may not be available to all applicants. The University of è�� at Lafayette and its online programs must be in compliance in every state where a student is located. International students also may not be eligible. According to U.S. immigration regulations, F-1 students cannot pursue online degrees; international students in other visa categories (i.e., H-4, L2) are exempt from this restriction.
